Eye on the Prize – Jedburgh Community Lottery

By entering the Eye on the Prize Lottery, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Promoter

The lottery is promoted and operated by The Jed Eye (Jedburgh and District Community News Group CIC), based in Jedburgh.

2. Purpose of the Lottery

The lottery is operated to:

• Raise funds for community projects and initiatives in Jedburgh
• Support the ongoing work of The Jed Eye
• Provide participants with the opportunity to win cash prizes

3. Eligibility

• Participants must be aged 18 years or over
• Players must be residents of the UK
• Employees or volunteers of The Jed Eye may participate unless otherwise restricted

4. Entry

• Entry costs £5 per number per month
• Players may purchase multiple entries
• Entry is via subscription (PayPal)
• Each entry is allocated a unique lottery number

5. Draw Details

The draw takes place monthly (typically the last Friday of each month)
Winning numbers are selected using a random method (by number generator)
The draw will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner

6. Prizes

Prize amounts are based on a percentage of ticket sales:

• 50% of income allocated to prizes
• 25% allocated to community funding
• 25% retained by The Jed Eye

Typical prize structure may include:

• 1st Prize
• 2nd Prize
• 3rd Prize
• Additional smaller prizes (dependent on prize pot)

Prize values may vary depending on total entries.

7. Notification of Winners

• Winners will be notified by email, phone, or post
• Winners may also be announced on:
• The Jed Eye website
• Social media channels
• The Jed Eye publication

8. Payment of Prizes

• Prizes will be paid by bank transfer or other agreed method
• Payments will be made within a reasonable timeframe after the draw

9. Publicity

By entering the lottery, winners agree that:

• Their name and prize may be published
• Photographs may be used for promotional purposes

(If preferred, winners may request anonymity)

10. Cancellation

• Players may cancel their subscription at any time
• Cancellation will take effect before the next billing cycle
• No refunds are provided for entries already processed

11. Liability

• The Jed Eye accepts no responsibility for:
• Lost or delayed entries
• Payment processing issues outside its control
• The promoter’s decision is final in all matters

12. Data Protection

• Personal data will be used solely for administering the lottery
• Data will not be shared with third parties without consent
• All data will be handled in accordance with UK data protection laws

13. Licensing
